When I first started AV Specialists, the business looked very different from the company you know today. We had one truck, and I was doing a lot of the installation work myself. I was engineering the systems, figuring out how everything needed to work and doing whatever it took to get the job done. The technology was different, too. We worked with coax cable, splitters, roof antennas and plenty of satellite dishes. Most systems were still analog, and programming something that feels simple today could take an incredible amount of time. We were building a company at the same time the technology industry itself was changing around us.
Over the years, both have evolved tremendously. Today, the systems we design can include lighting, audio, video, networking, security, automation and control, all working together as one experience. We work in custom homes and sophisticated commercial environments, and our projects now move through multiple layers of design, engineering, operations and installation before they ever reach completion. The products are better, the systems are more capable, the projects are more complex and our clients expect more from us.
That evolution is what has brought us to this next chapter: AV Specialists is becoming Luxury AV.
I want to make something very clear to everyone who has known or worked with AV Specialists over the years. Luxury AV is not a new company. It is the evolution of the company we have been building all along. The people, experience, relationships and standards behind AV Specialists are not going away. We are giving the company a name and identity that better reflect the level of work we do today and where we are headed next.
AV Specialists was the right name for the company we were building when we started, but our work has grown far beyond what most people picture when they hear “AV.” Yes, we still care deeply about how something sounds and how something looks. But today, we are also thinking about the network supporting the property, the lighting that changes the way a room feels, the infrastructure hidden behind the walls and the way systems from different manufacturers can communicate with one another. We are thinking about what should be visible, what should disappear and how someone is actually going to live or work in the space every day. The work has become about the full experience, and that is what Luxury AV represents.
