Introducing Luxury AV: The Next Chapter of Our Company
When I first started AV Specialists, the business looked very different from the company you know today. We had one truck, and I was doing a lot of the installation work myself. I was engineering the systems, figuring out how everything needed to work and doing whatever it took to get the job done. The technology was different, too. We worked with coax cable, splitters, roof antennas and plenty of satellite dishes. Most systems were still analog, and programming something that feels simple today could take an incredible amount of time. We were building a company at the same time the technology industry itself was changing around us.
Over the years, both have evolved tremendously. Today, the systems we design can include lighting, audio, video, networking, security, automation and control, all working together as one experience. We work in custom homes and sophisticated commercial environments, and our projects now move through multiple layers of design, engineering, operations and installation before they ever reach completion. The products are better, the systems are more capable, the projects are more complex and our clients expect more from us.
That evolution is what has brought us to this next chapter: AV Specialists is becoming Luxury AV.
I want to make something very clear to everyone who has known or worked with AV Specialists over the years. Luxury AV is not a new company. It is the evolution of the company we have been building all along. The people, experience, relationships and standards behind AV Specialists are not going away. We are giving the company a name and identity that better reflect the level of work we do today and where we are headed next.
AV Specialists was the right name for the company we were building when we started, but our work has grown far beyond what most people picture when they hear “AV.” Yes, we still care deeply about how something sounds and how something looks. But today, we are also thinking about the network supporting the property, the lighting that changes the way a room feels, the infrastructure hidden behind the walls and the way systems from different manufacturers can communicate with one another. We are thinking about what should be visible, what should disappear and how someone is actually going to live or work in the space every day. The work has become about the full experience, and that is what Luxury AV represents.
Luxury is also a word that can be misunderstood. To me, luxury does not simply mean expensive. It is not about filling a space with the most impressive products or the most technology. It is about the level of thought, care and intention behind the experience.
Sometimes that means making technology a visible part of the room. Other times, it means making it nearly disappear. In a home, it may be lighting that brings out the best in the architecture, or systems that work together without the homeowner having to think about them. In a commercial environment, it may mean walking into a boardroom or hospitality space and knowing everything will work the way it is supposed to. The setting may be different, but the standard is the same: the technology should support the space and the people using it.
As our projects have grown in both size and sophistication, one thing has remained constant: the way we approach the people we work with. This has always been a relationship business to me. Whether we are working in someone’s home or alongside a business, builder, designer or architect, there is a level of trust involved in being invited into that space and being asked to help shape how it functions.
That responsibility has influenced the kind of company I have always wanted to build. I want our clients and partners to feel like they have a team they can talk to, a team that listens, communicates clearly and stays involved long after the initial decisions are made.
I am proud of what AV Specialists has become, and I am incredibly grateful to the people who helped build it. Our clients trusted us in their homes and businesses. Our employees helped us grow. Builders, designers, architects and partners gave us opportunities to become part of incredible projects. Each relationship has played a role in shaping the company we are today.
Luxury AV gives us the opportunity to build on all of that while continuing to raise the standard for what we do. We want to create spaces where technology enhances the experience without taking it over. We want to be involved early enough in the design and building process that technology feels like it belongs in the architecture rather than being added afterward. We want to bring sophisticated technology together with thoughtful design and make the end result feel simple for the person living or working with it.
Most importantly, we want to continue being the kind of company people trust.
Thank you for being part of the AV Specialists story. I am excited for you to be part of what comes next with Luxury AV.
